WELCOME TO GINFORMATION

I've come a long way since drinking Gordon's Gin with cheap tonic in my student days. Follow my blog to see my reviews of the different gins, tonics, and combinations that I come across.

ABOUT THE BLOG

What You Need to Know

Hello and welcome to Ginformation! The idea for this blog started to form in my head in early 2019 as a way to share my thoughts about the different gins, mixers, and combinations thereof, that I have tried.

I do not profess to be a gin connoisseur, in fact, some days I hark back to my life as a carefree student where I tried my first Gordon's gin and tonic (a bitter taste at first, but students rarely complain if drinks are on special). Yet, it is with that first taste that it all began, and a new world opened up for me!
I'll admit to initially being a bit peeved as the craft beer craze subsided and the craft gin wave hit. "Now everyone will think that I jumped on that bandwagon as well", I'd think to myself. However, I'm also not afraid to say I've swallowed my words when I realised that I couldn't care less what others thought and that I actually loved talking to others about gin, introducing them to different gin brands, and just enjoying the feeling I get when sharing a glass of gin with friends. In fact, at this point I am so passionate about it that I staunchly advocate for a good craft gin industry (or just a gin industry in general). It is a way for distilleries to show their creativity and to wow the public, and of course, a good reason for me to try out new flavours and variations of a spirit that I've had a liking for for almost a decade.

As I mentioned before, I do not profess to be a gin connoisseur and I have no formal training in any aspect of gin making. The aim of Ginformation is simply to show and tell readers about the newest gins or mixers or combinations of the two that I've tried, what I thought about the taste and look, and perhaps inspire others to give it a try.
